Filling-in survey information

From the dialog box that appears, add information about the new survey, and confirm it with the "Save" button.

At minimum, an address, a country, and in the case of Ireland, a county, must be filled out.

You must also pick a Template from the dropdown list. The template consists of empty sections and subsections that your survey will be made of.

A default template is provided by us, but you may also send us your own template for integration from the Templates tab.

Pre-editing the survey

The newly created survey should now appear in the list.

You can now click on the survey to start editing its content! It will contain the sections from the template you selected, but they will all be blank by default.

Note that default text might be present in some sections depending on the template. If you want to change these defaults, do not hesitate to contact us in the Templates tab!

While editing the survey from the website is nice with all the screen estate, you might want to survey with a mobile device, sometimes in areas where an internet connection cannot be assured.

In the section below, you will learn how to use an iPhone or iPad to survey on-site.

Surveying

Surveying happens on a mobile device, such as an iPad or an iPhone.

Downloading the App

On your mobile device, you will need to download the App from the App Store.

From the AppStore, this is as simple as searching for "surveyhouse":

Otherwise, just open your iPhone or iPad camera App, and point it at the following picture (you do not need to take a picture):

You should receive a notification that will bring you to the AppStore page from where you will be able to download the App.

Logging-in to the app

From the mobile App, log-in using your Google account, just like you did to log in to this website.

Getting the survey on your phone for offline use

The survey you created previously should be listed on the main screen in the app.

You will need to first get the survey to your device by pressing the download button next to the survey you want to download, like so:

The survey is now stored on your device, which means that you can conduct it even without an internet connection. However, it is now locked from editing on all other devices, including the website, which will show a lock icon:

You will need to first upload your changes from your mobile device to be able to edit this survey from the website again.

Survey

Now you can do what you do best: Survey!

Select a section, add comments, pictures, and recommendations. Tap on a picture to edit its caption.

Uploading changes

While you're editing, all changes are stored locally on your mobile device.

When you're done editing on-site, you can upload your changes to our servers to make the survey available from this website. This is done by pressing on "Upload", and then selecting the survey with the changes you want to upload, like so:

The upload might take some time, but once done, the survey you uploaded back will be unlocked on the website.

Exporting

Now back to the website, where the lock will have disappeared following your upload. From there, click on the Create survey report icon, like shown below:

This will generate a report for you, and send it to you via email on your Google address with the exported survey.

If you want to add some final touches to the exported survey, simply head to the Google Docs linked in the email to edit your document. From there, you will also be able to download it in your favorite formats such as .doc or .docx for Microsoft Word editing or as a PDF for printing!
